(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) -- A new website polling app gives Simi Valley residents a place to share their candidate preferences—and see how those preferences compare with others taking part.
Called Simi Says, the app features daily opinion polls for local mayoral, City Council, school board and park district races. Participants can select a candidate in each race, view results and create a shareable graphic of their picks through the app's "Share My Slate" feature.
The app is available at simisays.app.
A poll that starts fresh each day
Participants can submit one response per race during each poll day. The daily cycle resets at 6 p.m. Pacific, giving people an opportunity to return and register their preferences again.
Results include candidate vote totals and seven-day trend charts. The charts show how many votes each candidate received on individual poll days, with seven-day totals and percentages listed below.
Because participation repeats daily, totals represent poll responses—not necessarily distinct people. Someone who returns across several days can contribute to the totals more than once.
Sharing a slate
"Share My Slate" turns a participant's confirmed choices into an image they can download or share. Participants can choose which races to include without changing their saved votes.
The feature offers a way to start a conversation about local candidates: share your picks, compare them with friends and neighbors, and explain what matters to you.
What the results mean
Simi Says is a self-selected community opinion poll, not a scientific survey or an official ballot. Its results reflect the people who choose to participate and should not be interpreted as a prediction of election outcomes or a representative measure of all Simi Valley voters.
Participating in the app does not register anyone to vote or cast a vote in an actual election.
For residents interested in following local races, the app offers another place to check in and join the conversation.
