Moorpark To Host Inaugural Pickleball Classic to Benefit Adventist Health Simi Valley

A full day of competition, community, and charity takes over Arroyo Vista Community Park on June 28.

(CLAIR | Moorpark, CA) – Paddles go up and the energy rises on June 28 when the Adventist Health Simi Valley Foundation brings its first-ever Pickleball Classic to Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark. The daylong tournament opens registration at 7:15 a.m. and kicks off with an opening ceremony at 8:00 a.m. Three separate medal ceremonies follow at 11:15 a.m., 2:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. as brackets close throughout the day.

The event carries a clear purpose. All proceeds fund the surgical innovation and equipment fund at Adventist Health Simi Valley. That connection turns every volley and every dink into direct support for medical technology that serves the broader community across both Simi Valley and Moorpark.

The tournament welcomes all skill levels. Women's doubles and men's doubles brackets run at 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+ ratings. That range opens the door to casual weekend players and seasoned competitors alike. Registration costs $75 per player. Spectators can join the action for $35. Every registration includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and unlimited access to the paddle pavilion.

Top Tier Pickleball serves as the tournament director for the event. The partnership signals a serious commitment to competitive quality and player experience from the start. Organizers clearly intend this to become an annual tradition, not a one-off fundraiser.

Arroyo Vista Community Park provides an ideal setting. The park sits at the heart of Moorpark's outdoor recreation scene and offers space for competition and spectators to spread out across a full Saturday. The choice of venue reflects a growing trend in Moorpark. Community health events, outdoor recreation, and charitable giving continue to find common ground in the city's public spaces.

For businesses and organizations looking to align their brand with health, recreation, and community impact, sponsorship opportunities remain available. Laurel Johnston handles sponsorship inquiries at johnstla01@ah.org.

Pickleball continues to grow across Southern California, and events like this one channel that energy toward something larger. The Pickleball Classic gives residents throughout Ventura County a reason to show up, compete, and contribute to a cause that reaches well beyond the court.
