Local artisans bring handmade jewelry, pottery, and home decor to the Senior Center for a two-day fair that benefits senior services across the city
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — The Simi Valley Council On Aging will hold its 26th annual Arts & Crafts Fair on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Senior Center on Avenida Simi.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
Local artists will sell handmade jewelry, pottery, home decor and other one-of-a-kind gift items. Many of the artisans are seniors who live in the city.
On Saturday morning, the Rotary Club of Simi Valley Noontimers will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Tickets cost $8 at the door. Each meal includes a raffle ticket for a handmade gift made by one of the participating artists.
Bill Oliver chairs the Arts and Crafts Fair for the Council On Aging. He said the event highlights local talent while raising money for senior services.
All proceeds from the fair support the Council On Aging. The organization funds transportation for seniors, nutrition programs, and equipment and furniture for the Senior Center.
The Senior Center is located at 3900 Avenida Simi. For more information, call (805) 583-6363.
The fair offers an early chance for holiday shoppers to find handmade gifts while supporting programs that serve older residents across the city.
