Golfers Tee Off for Kids at Boys & Girls Club Golf Classic

(CLAIR | Moorpark, CA) — For many, golf is a chance to enjoy the sunshine, share laughs with friends, and maybe win a prize or two. But on Monday, September 15, 2025, every swing at Moorpark Country Club will carry a little more weight. Each drive, chip, and putt will help support the Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark & Simi Valley, now celebrating 55 years of serving local youth.

The annual Boys & Girls Club Golf Classic has become more than just a day on the course. It’s one of the most important fundraisers of the year, bringing the community together to back programs that give kids safe spaces, academic support, and positive role models.

A Day of Golf and Giving
Players can sign up for $195 per golfer or $780 per foursome. The entry includes breakfast, a box lunch, and an awards banquet to cap off the day. On the course, golfers will find putting and chipping contests, cold drinks, and hole-in-one challenges with prizes worth chasing.

The format keeps the competition fresh, with awards going to the best teams across three course pairings: Canyon Crest–Ridgeline, Ridgeline–Creekside, and Creekside–Canyon Crest. Beyond golf, an auction and opportunity board will feature prizes donated by area businesses.

Why It Matters
The Boys & Girls Club has deep roots in Ventura County. What began in the late 1960s as a small after-school program in Simi Valley has grown into a two-city Club serving thousands of kids each year. Its programs cover everything from homework help and STEM learning to leadership development and sports. For many families, it’s more than childcare—it’s a second home.

The Golf Classic helps keep those doors open. Funds raised go directly toward ensuring that kids have a safe place after school, meals when needed, and mentors who push them to succeed.

How the Community Can Join In
Organizers are calling on local golfers, businesses, and residents to get involved. Sponsorships are available, and companies can also donate prizes or sponsor tee boxes. Even those who don’t play golf can support by attending the banquet, volunteering, or contributing auction items.

“Every golfer and sponsor makes a direct impact,” the Club said in its announcement. “When you sign up, you’re investing in kids right here at home.”

The 2025 Boys & Girls Club Golf Classic will be held at Moorpark Country Club, 11800 Championship Drive, Moorpark. To register or learn about sponsorships, call the Club at (805) 527-4437.
